About Our President
Legendz Foundation was founded in September 2018 by Tahany Shihadeh, in honor of my mother, whose unwavering commitment to education and community empowerment shaped the lives of countless students. As a dedicated 5th-grade teacher at Tangelo Park Elementary, she exemplified resilience and compassion, even while facing the challenges of cancer.
Before becoming a teacher, my mother pursued her master’s degree in science while balancing the responsibilities of motherhood. Her journey was marked by determination and a deep-seated passion for nurturing young minds. She understood the vital role that encouragement and support play in a child’s development, consistently going above and beyond to ensure that all fifth graders felt valued and special.
Each year, she made it a priority to provide gifts for all fifth graders during the Christmas holiday, ensuring that even those who might not receive gifts at home would feel the joy of the season. She organized themed graduation parties for the entire fifth-grade level, creating memorable experiences that fostered a sense of community among her students. Additionally, she held holiday celebrations before Christmas break, fostering a spirit of joy and togetherness.
Her contributions extended beyond celebrations; she generously donated thousands of supplies to the school, providing essential resources for her students and colleagues. All of her efforts were driven by a genuine desire to uplift those in need and ensure that every child felt supported.
Following her passing, I felt a profound responsibility to honor her legacy by establishing a nonprofit organization dedicated to her principles of compassion and empowerment. Legendz Foundation aims to continue her mission of uplifting children and demonstrating that their potential is not constrained by their circumstances.
Through our initiatives, we strive to embody her spirit of generosity and dedication, ensuring that every child feels valued and has access to the resources necessary to pursue their aspirations. Legendz Foundation is more than an organization; it is a tribute to an extraordinary educator whose influence will continue to inspire future generations.
